With a foundation in architectural thinking, his artistic practice expands into ceramics as a medium to explore space, structure, and tactility. He uses clay not only as a material of making but as a spatial language, translating architectural concepts into sculptural and sensory experiences.
His works often investigate the dialogue between form and void, structure and fragility, discipline and chance. He has practiced as an architect while developing his own artistic trajectory, crossing disciplinary boundaries through installations, exhibitions, and collaborative projects. His career reflects a commitment to expanding the role of ceramics beyond function, positioning it as an artistic and architectural medium that engages both body and space. His works have been presented in Uk, Japan, China.
Through these projects, he continues to pursue a practice that situates ceramics within broader conversations of contemporary art, design, and spatial exploration.
void—and then translate these ideas into material experiments. Sketches, models, and architectural drawings often serve as entry
points, but the process evolves through hands-on engagement with clay.
I work primarily with hand-building techniques such as slab construction, coiling, and carving, which allow me to build forms layer by layer, echoing the way architectural spaces are constructed. Surface treatment and firing are not simply finishing processes but integral to the exploration of texture, depth, and atmosphere. The unpredictability of the ceramic process introduces elements of chance, which I embrace as part of the dialogue between control and spontaneity.
Through this method, I aim to expand ceramics beyond its functional and decorative traditions, positioning it as a medium for spatial investigation. My intention is to create works that can be experienced not only as objects but as environments—artifacts that carry architectural thinking into intimate, tactile encounters.”
